The Chuncheon city government will appoint an honorary interpreter in nine years to revitalize the international exchange project.

The city government announced on the 12th that it will hold a 'Chuncheon City honorary interpreter appointment ceremony and meeting' at the central meeting room.

It is the first time that an honorary interpreter has been appointed since February 2012.

Through the new appointment of honorary interpreters, the city government plans to actively utilize the honorary interpreter system and revitalize related projects.

The new honorary interpreters are 18 foreign students, three marriage immigrants, and two Korean university students, in 11 countries and 11 languages.

As it is part of the project to make foreign students become a citizen, it was selected mainly by foreign students.

In the future, the honorary interpreter will participate in various international exchange projects promoted by the municipal government.

Chuncheon Mayor Lee Jae-soo said, "We hope you will play the role of 'Chuncheon's messenger' that delivers Chuncheon's culture, history, food, and resources at home and abroad, not just language. We look forward to growing more with regular meetings and active activities."
