The Daejeon Metropolitan Government announced on the 14th that it will collect citizens' opinions on the creation of a new 'baseball dream park' through the online civic participation policy proposal platform 'Daejeon Seesaw'.
The Baseball Dream Park project is a project to build a new baseball stadium after the demolition of the existing Hanbat Sports Complex, and Daejeon City has been working on a bidding guide for designing and ordering large-scale construction projects since March this year.
Accordingly, the Daejeon Metropolitan Government plans to find and reflect various contents about the cultural experience and civic rest space that citizens need with citizens' opinions through this public forum to make Baseball Dream Park a resting place in the city.
All citizens can participate in the survey through the Daejeon Seesaw (daejeon.go.kr/seesaw) website until the 23rd of this month. Participants will also be given beverage vouchers through a lottery.
Sohn Chul-woong, Director of Culture, Sports and Tourism in Daejeon City, said, "The baseball stadium is a cultural and sports facility that citizens enjoy, so we plan to create a friendly downtown space that citizens want to visit. We hope that citizens will come up with various opinions to visit, enjoy, and co-exist with the region.“
The baseball dream park construction project plans to complete the basic design by the end of this year, and start construction such as the demolition of Hanbat Sports Complex in March next year and finish the construction by December 2024.
