A sky filled with dark clouds is apparently about to pour rain immediately. A girl is seen wearing a pink jeogori, the upper garment of a Hanbok (traditional Korean costume), and a blue skirt with braided hair tied with a daenggi (traditional ribbon). She slowly follows people.

Then the cries of children and the screams of adults fill the air. When the camera gets closer to her, the girl looks back. Smiling with a scary bloody face, she comes closer to the camera and says, "Play with me."

"Ahhh~~~~! A scream comes out naturally. But even as we flee, we erupt in laughter soon after."

When evening comes, the song of cicadas mixed with unknown sounds is heard everywhere to create a spooky atmosphere. With black lips on a pale face, an angel of death wearing a black durumagi (traditional overcoat) and a black gat (traditional hat) whispers, "It's your turn," giving people goose bumps.

To avoid the angel of death, we went somewhere near Seonangdang, or holy stone cairns or trees dedicated to the patron deity of a village. Another virgin ghost, wearing a green jeogori and a red skirt and running with her torso bent back, made us break out in a cold sweat. Afraid that the ghost might follow us, we ran away quickly.

Korea.net staff writers on Aug. 17 went on the night tour "Adding the Moonlight" for about an hour at the Korean Folk Village, a theme park for traditional Korean culture in Yongin, Gyeonggi-do Province. The tour runs through Nov. 17 to promote night views of the nation's traditional homes.

The extended operating hours are intended to promote the Horror of Ghost Zone, an exhibition hall for a new ghost experience featuring spirits from Korean legends and tales, the virtual reality experience "The Beginning of a Curse" and a puppet show. Performers use special effects makeup to play traditional ghosts and create a truly scary atmosphere.

The tour is offered daily from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Admission is KRW 28,000 for adults and KRW 25,000 for youths, but through Aug. 31, the fees are discounted to KRW 15,000 and KRW 12,000, respectively.
