Korea is famous not only for K-pop and dramas but also its cuisine Hansik, which is now found in many countries. Korean food is often described as savory and spicy and sometimes with an intense taste. Six Honorary Reporters from six countries share their favorite foods from Korean cuisine.

Marina Luchina from Kazakhstan

I love many Korean foods but my favorites are those with an unusual taste and spicy flavor like tteokbokki (spicy rice cake), jjajangmyeon (noodles in black bean sauce), doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) and samgyeopsal (grilled pork belly).

Glauci Vieira from Brazil
I live in Rio de Janeiro but to get the best Korean food, I often go to Sao Paulo, which has the Korean neighborhood Bom Retiro and thus has many good Korean restaurants. I love to order gimbap (seaweed rice rolls) because they're healthy, tasty and practical.

John Alex Orencia from Philippines
I love samgyeopsal not because it's a very popular Korean food here in the Philippines, but because every time I eat it, I experience the Korean vibes seen in Korean dramas. And as a Filipino, I often don't get so many side dishes on a dining table, so I really enjoy the experience of eating Korean food, especially with my friends.

Lewis Hooper from England
My favorite Korean food is tteokbokki. Not only can you get this on every street and street vendor in Korea, it offers both a sweet and spicy flavor that forms a great tasting combination. Tteokbokki also offers a great health benefit of being high in iron, which is good for muscles.

Andra Michaela From Romania
In summer, I enjoy samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup), which provides energy on hot days and relieves fatigue. Tteokbokki is my favorite Korean dish and most Romanians enjoy it. Japchae is different from spaghetti and so much better. Since I love beef, bulgogi is always on my list. "Chimaek" (a portmanteau of the English word "chicken" and the Korean term for beer maekju) is perfect for when friends get together and gimbap triangles along with ramyeon (instant noodles) are the best daily snacks. Korean dishes are incredibly delicious, the ingredients are 100% healthy and one taste makes them addictive in the best way.

Monthi Rosselini from Indonesia
My favorite food apart from kimchi fried rice is jjajangmyeon because of its thick and rich gravy. I also like oemuk (fish cake). The first time I tried it was at Mangwon Market in Seoul. It's the perfect food to warm up in Korea's cold winter.

Bibimbap, or a bowl of rice mixed with meat, red pepper paste and assorted vegetables, is often served with side dishes. (Korea.net)
