It is time to consider citizens who show depression due to the prolonged coronavirus crisis, limited community activities, and gatherings.

To prevent the risk of prolonged corona from becoming a depression, Daejeon citizens need daily changes. At times like this, it'd be nice to start with something you can do alone. Healthcare professionals also recommend taking a walk in a non-face-to-face space with masks.

Daejeon Metropolitan Sports Council is also promoting the walking movement of citizens through the walk-on application. Amid the heatwave, it would be good to practice walking exercise, which is perfect for exercising physical strength and changing mood, rather than excessive exercise.

In Daejeon, there is a course where you can walk easily in the city center without leaving the outer nature. The representative one is the Red Clay Road (Hwangtot-gil) along with the three major rivers. The Hwangtot-gil in Seo-gu, Daejeon was constructed at the end of July 2015 under the name "Hwangtot-gil in the city center" from Wolpyeong 3-dong to Mannyeon-dong, and as a result of its steady expansion, it led to a circular course covering Dunsan-dong and Wolpyeong 2-dong.

Recently, the Red Clay Road has been extended to Wolpyeong 1-dong to establish itself as a walking attraction in Daejeon. Last year, in recognition of these projects, Seo-gu, Daejeon received the "2020 Korea Space Welfare Awards Excellent Award.“

I think the reason why the red clay road in downtown Daejeon is popular among citizens is the geographical environment. The Red Clay Road, which connects Daejeon Government Complex, major public institutions, and nearby living areas, provides citizens with a walking course as well as a road to travel. Hanbat Arboretum, Eunpyeong Park, and Wolpyeong Library are connected to Hwangtok-gil, making it a living infrastructure.

Also, it is located near or connected to Gapcheon Station, Wolpyeong Station, Galma Station, and Government Complex Station, as well as bus stops in the section, so you can easily find it anywhere in Daejeon.

The steadily managed landscaping and improved facilities are also the reasons why residents can find them with confidence. It is trying to create a safe and user-centered path that collects opinions from residents to manage green spaces in each section.

In 2020, Wolpyeong 1-dong Village Community used the Red Clay Road as a village festival, including a walking event, and Wolpyeong 2-dong Residents' Self-Governing Council in 2021 is discussing the improvement of the Red Clay Road function.

I recommend that you start lightly in August, a walking exercise that can blow away depression from prolonged Corona 19.
