At 10 p.m. local time on the 21st, Daejeon City's Deputy Mayor of Science Kim Myung-soo, who is traveling to two Middle Eastern countries for overseas hydrogen cooperation projects, met Mayor Isam Saud Al-Jazali, the capital of Oman, Muscat. The two cities promised to cooperate in the development of hydrogen resources and technologies.

In addition, Deputy Mayor of Science Kim visited Muscat's Oman Integrated Petroleum Company (OQ) and attended the technical cooperation agreement between Korea Gas Technology Corporation (President Cho Yong-don) and OQ to promise support from Daejeon City.

On the morning of the 22nd, he met with Vice Minister Salim Alupi of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals in Oman to discuss cooperation in hydrogen technology cooperation and green energy production and technology development between the two countries.

Meanwhile, Oman is preparing a decarbonization strategy based on abundant wind and solar resources and existing large port facilities.

To this end, Oman plans to build a green hydrogen production base and a large-scale plant that produces ammonia in the Duqm Special Economic Zone to prepare for the global demand for green hydrogen and ammonia derivatives.

Kim Myung-soo, deputy mayor of Daejeon City Science, said, "Let's achieve the common goal of both cities to establish a successful green hydrogen system through organic business cooperation between Daejeon City and Muscat City. To this end, we will help maximize the synergy effect of Daejeon's advanced hydrogen-related technology and R&D performance and Oman's rich green hydrogen production capacity."
