-Daejeon City: Leaping to the core of a special video center based on the 'special video cluster'-
Daejeon City said that the Netflix series Hellbound, which has recently become a global craze following the Squid Game, was also filmed in Daejeon. Daejeon announced that it is emerging as the center of globalization of K-content.
As soon as "Hellbound" was released, it topped the global TOP10 faster than "Squid Game." "Hellbound" was filmed in two indoor studios (video special effect towns) of the Daejeon Information and Culture Industry Promotion Agency for five months from August 2020 to January this year.
Meanwhile, most of the game scenes, such as tug-of-war, dalgona, and marbles of Squid Game, were filmed at Studio Cube (operated by the Korea Creative Content Agency) located in Daejeon.
The Daejeon Information and Culture Industry Promotion Agency is currently operating two indoor studios (Studio A and B), and the rental for movie and drama production has already been completed by early next year, and the operation rate reaches 100%.

Drama "Jirisan Mountain," "Kingdom II" and "18 Again" were filmed in Aqua Studio (231.2㎡ wide and 5.6m high), where underwater filming is possible.
Daejeon City and Daejeon Information and Culture Industry Promotion Agency are operating film and drama production support projects (partial refunds of local consumption when filming in Daejeon), video production field experiences and promotional projects, and video content production support projects (long and short films and documentaries).
Son Cheol-woong, director of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau of Daejeon City, said, "As 'Squid Game' and 'Hellbound' filmed in Daejeon become famous as world-famous dramas, interest in Daejeon is also increasing. Daejeon City plans to make it the world's best special video complex by promoting the "convergence special video content cluster creation project" without a hitch by 2025, which recently passed the government's preliminary feasibility study.“
Kim Jin-kyu, head of the Daejeon Information and Culture Industry Promotion Agency, said, "As global platforms such as Netflix and Disney Plus recognize the excellence of original and ingenious K-content and large-scale investments are underway, we will make more efforts to attract world-class filming to Daejeon.“
