2021 Daejeon Craft Fair

Daejeon City announced that it will hold the 2021 Daejeon Craft Fair at the exhibition hall on the first floor of the Daejeon Convention Center (DCC) from December 3 (Fri) to 5 (Sun).

Hosted by Daejeon City and organized by the Daejeon Craft Cooperative Federation, the event will be held to revitalize the local craft industry and popularize the craft culture, which has been in a slump due to COVID-19.

The main event will consist of ▲ Experience Center ▲ Sales Center ▲ University Hall ▲ Seminar ▲ Special Exhibition.

The experience center is a free workshop experience where visitors can make and keep crafts themselves, and there will be 540 experiences in three days, including leather, ceramics, and silver crafts. The sales hall operates as a flea market where you can purchase crafts at an affordable price.

In addition, various programs were prepared, including a university hall exhibiting the works of students from Daejeon's craft-related departments, seminars to discuss in-depth ways to develop the craft culture industry, and special exhibitions to view local masterpieces and cultural properties.

The city expects the fair to contribute to the revitalization of the sluggish local craft industry, the sale of works, and the actual increase in income from additional profits.

It also expects to contribute to revitalizing the local economy as about 3,000 craftsmen, officials, and visitors from all over the country visit Daejeon.

Daejeon City said, "We are very happy that this fair has served as an opportunity to promote the beauty and excellence of our local crafts and to promote the craft culture to citizens," adding, "Our city will continue to make various efforts to discover and develop excellent crafts in the region.“

Meanwhile, the award-winning works of the 51st Korea Crafts Competition can also be seen at the fair. Works by local artists who won the Prime Minister's Award in the individual award category will also be displayed.
