I still remember the first time I came here with my friends, I got lost because I was too busy looking at the food. There are also Vietnamese restaurants here and that also why I come here so often. I often go to Jungang Market with my friends on my free weekend to go to the market. The reason we love shopping for food here is definitely that they are really cheap! Not only food but also kitchen utensils are much cheaper than in supermarkets, and their quality is also better than in Daiso!
The market is a really large comprehensive market consisting of many smaller markets that sell anything you need: Hanbok, bedding, jewely, clothes, food, etc. That is why it is divided into many small markets, or as they call it, the 'stations' - dried seafood street, hardware street, fish street, herbal medicine street, hanbok street, delicacy street, and so on.
What I like most about the Jungang Market is probably the smell of street food. My friend and I used to eat sundae (순대) here. If you are a foreigner, try this: Choose a vendor, sit down, and enjoy the street food in the middle of the day. That feeling is very 'Daejeon', leisure and peace amidst the hustle and bustle of life. But hey! Is there ever a rush in this beautiful city? Just take it slow and enjoy this life!
