In commemoration of actor Song Kang-ho winning the Best Actor Award at the 75th Cannes Film Festival in 2022 - 130 people including cultural artists, the disabled, and the Daejeon branch of the Legal Protection and Welfare Service was invited to the screening of "Broker" at Megabox Daejeon Jungang-ro branch at 7 pm on Thursday, June 16th.

The Daejeon Metropolitan Branch of the Korean Film Association (Chairman Sung Nak-won) announced that to commemorate Song Kang-ho's winning of the Best Actor Award at the 75th Cannes Film Festival, a movie walk to share love in June 2022 will be held at Megabox Daejeon Jungang-ro branch on Thursday, the 16th, at 7 pm.

On this day, a total of 130 people, including cultural artists from the Daejeon region, persons eligible for protection from the Daejeon branch of the Korea Justice Protection and Welfare Agency, the disabled, and sponsors, will be invited to watch a free movie.

The June 'Love Sharing' Movie Walk movie will be "Broker" (129 minutes of screen time), directed by Hirokazu Koreeda, starring five leading actors, including Song Kang-ho, Kang Dong-won, Bae Doo-na, IU, and Lee Ju-young.

The movie "Broker" is a film that gives many realistic messages and heavy comfort through the process of people who meet for different purposes and directions become a family, "Broker", "Baby Box", and "Life" of a baby. It's not a movie that you can just watch and finish, but it's a movie to think about.

This is the first Korean film by the famous Japanese director Hirokazu Koreeda. In Korea, every movie is a story about a sensitive family, and there are quite a few people who like Hirokazu Koreeda's movies in Korea, such as "A miracle that might really happen", "The Sea Village Diary", and "A Certain Family". In fact, director Hirokazu Koreeda shared that he had been hoping to work in Korea for several years before “Broker” was produced, and he had been working on the screenplay for a long time in contact with domestic producers.

At the 75th Cannes Film Festival, where the joy came and went, director Park Chan-wook won the Best Director Award for "Decision to Break Up" and actor Song Kang-ho won the Best Actor Award for "The Broker". It was a film festival where you could feel the status of Korean films that have definitely changed. Actor Song Kang-ho said, "I am so grateful and honored. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to director Hirokazu Koreeda, one of the greatest artists."

Looking at the responses of overseas critics at the Cannes Film Festival, there are full of amazing details, from "It was one of Cannes' highlights this year" to "The actors live and breathe in the play with their lively acting skills." There were many praises for the details and the actors' emotional acting.

In the movie "Broker", you can see beautiful scenery from the most Korean backgrounds. In the movie, the main characters get on a car and meticulously go through the East Coast such as Pohang, Uljin, Samcheok, and Gangneung, and I think the audience who sees it will feel like they are traveling in Korea. It really shows the standard of a 'road movie'.

When watching a movie or a drama, the power of music is enormous. Depending on what kind of music you put on, the way you look at it varies. The soundtrack of the movie "Broker" was directed by music director 'Jeong Jae-il'. He played the OST for last year's top Netflix hit, The Squid Game, which was acclaimed enough to win an award in the United States. In addition to "Squid Game", he has also shown excellent sound production through various films such as "Parasite", "Okja", "Wind", "Sea Fog", etc. Director Jeong Jae-il said, "There is a lot of space, It was the first time I had to work with music with a lot of blank space, where the notes had to be arranged in such a delicate way.”

Chairman Sung Nak-won said, "In June, we decided to invite a drinker to a culture that had difficulties with COVID-19 and have a time of comfort," adding, "I hope it will be a time to find peace of mind even for a moment while watching the movie."

Daejeon Film Artists Association has been providing free movie screenings for young people through various methods such as "Free Movie Appreciation Meeting for Couples", "Wednesday Movie Playground for All Families", and "Midsummer Night Movie Appreciation Meeting for Citizens" for over 10 years since the early 2000s. It made them have dreams and hopes, created a place of communication for families, and has been playing an important role in the creation of a harmonious family.

The 2022 Love Sharing Movie Walk is held on the evening of the third Thursday of every month, and the purpose of the event is to create a place of communication and harmony by providing citizens with opportunities to enjoy movies, thereby creating a healthy and beautiful community.

In addition, it is to allow families to have opportunities for dialogue and communication by sharing common interests through a common leisure experience, that is, watching a movie, and to deepen family harmony by instilling respect and understanding for each other through communication between each other.

“June 2022 Love Sharing Movie Walk” is scheduled to be held on Thursday, June 16th. Individuals or groups wishing to watch can inquire at the Daejeon Film Artists Association.
