The Daejeon Cultural Foundation (CEO Shim Gyu-Ik) will provide a venue for the exhibition and exchange of works by various young artists based in Daejeon and openly recruit participants in the '2022 Daejeon Youth Author Market D_ART+', which will promote the utilization of the culture of enjoying artworks.
D_ART+ (Daejeon ART Plus) is a project promoted by the Daejeon Cultural Foundation since 2019 to inspire the creative will of local young artists and provide opportunities to expand the base of activities through the operation of a direct-sale art market. It serves as a channel through which to communicate with the public and promote the work, focusing on works of art.
The contest is for all fields of visual arts, and applications can be made by email (dcaf2021@naver.com) by June 30, 18:00.
Eligibility for application is a young artist under the age of 39 (born after January 1, 1983) who has an address in the region and is from a school (elementary, middle, high school, or university) in the region over the past five years.
An official from the Daejeon Cultural Foundation said, "We are enjoying a boom in the era of 1 trillion Korean art markets due to the recent art tech craze," and added, "We hope many young artists will participate to showcase excellent works of young artists and revitalize the local art market."
Meanwhile, about 30 young artists selected through deliberation will be provided with an opportunity to display and sell their works at Shinsegae Gallery in Daejeon Shinsegae Department Store in August and Daejeon Artist's House in November. In addition, various promotions can be provided along with the full proceeds of all works sold during the event.
