On June 22, the Daejeon World Federation of Local Governments General Assembly Organizing Committee (hereinafter referred to as the ‘Organizing Committee’) held the ‘2022 Daejeon UCLG General Assembly International Student Ambassador Kick-Off Ceremony’ at the Daejeon Convention Center on the 22nd and announced the start of the full-scale activities of 87 ambassadors.
The selected UCLG General Assembly International Student Ambassadors consist of international students from 20 countries attending 10 universities in Daejeon.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by 85 international student ambassadors, including the secretary-general of the organizing committee, and consisted of awarding a letter of appointment, information on activities, and a meeting of each team's promotional ideas.
Appointed public relations ambassadors will perform online publicity activities related to the general assembly, such as ▲ Introduction of Daejeon attractions and restaurants ▲ Introduction of major programs and speakers of the general assembly ▲ Introduction of related events such as K-pop concerts, and ▲ Notification of the international student community.
In addition, related news will be posted on domestic and Korean social media, will be promoted at home and abroad, and will be active for the successful hosting of the 2022 Daejeon UCLG General Assembly.
Organizing Committee Secretary-General Jung Jae-Geun said, “At this point when the world exchanges blocked by COVID-19 are reopening, the activities of the international student ambassador will inspire many people around the world to participate.” We expect that the 2022 Daejeon UCLG General Assembly will be successfully held through various activities.”
Meanwhile, the 2022 Daejeon World Federation of Local Governments (UCLG) General Assembly is the largest international conference between local governments in the Daejeon Convention Center area from October 10 to 14, 2022, with over 1,000 local governments from 140 countries participating. Under the theme of 'Local and Regional Governments Breaking through as One', it will be held along with various related events such as an official meeting of five tracks and a K-pop concert.
