Sejong City and Cheongju city agreed to jointly develop joint tourism courses and exchange cultural and art groups to leap into a cultural city and improve cultural environments for both citizens.

Sejong City announced that they just signed the 'Sejong City-Cheongju City Cultural Cooperation Implementation Agreement' and promised to carry out seven core tasks for building a cultural city network and win-win cooperation on November 14, 2019.

The agreement was promoted to develop cultural city projects through mutual solidarity and cooperation and to improve cultural environments for both citizens by activating cultural exchange.

In particular, this agreement has a significant meaning in terms of embodying cooperation in the field of culture and tourism following the “Sejong City – Cheongju City Win-Win Cooperation Project Agreement” signed on October 18, 2019.

Both cities have held two working meetings to discuss cooperation issues for the cultural sector since September. The tasks include cooperation in promoting several projects to create a cultural city, joint cultural events, exchange of performances and exhibitions, development of joint tourism courses, promotion of mutual exchanges and cooperation among cultural arts organizations or communities.

Besides, the city will work together to encourage cooperation between the cultural foundations of both cities, to promote the utilization of cultural facilities by both citizens, such as service charge discounts, and cooperation in the process of  Government competition projects.

Both cities expect that the agreement will not only expand cultural environments for both citizens but also strengthen cultural cooperation with other metropolitan and local governments in the Chungcheong region.
