The technical inspection team of the International University Sports Federation (FISU) (hereinafter referred to as the International Federation), which arrived in Chungcheong to select a city to host the 2027 Summer World University Games (formerly known as the Summer Universiade), started an on-site inspection.
The 2027 Summer Universiade Chungcheong Region Joint Bidding Committee (hereafter referred to as the Committee) presented the preparation process for the competition to the League of Nations Technical Inspection Team (hereinafter referred to as the Inspection Team) at the Onoma Hotel in Daejeon on the 8th (Fri).
Through the presentation, the committee introduced ▲ the reasons why the four cities and provinces in the Chungcheong region should host the 2027 Summer World University Games, ▲ the facilities and infrastructure possessed by the Chungcheong region, and ▲ the legacy programs that conform to the policy of the League of Nations.
In particular, the committee informs the delegation that the 2015 Gwangju Universiade and the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, including the recent experience in Korea's international competitions and the preparations for the competition, which are emerging as a global trend, reflect the themes of 'eco-friendly' and 'sustainability', etc. In addition, he also introduced the aspirations of the Korean people, such as the one million signature campaign in hopes of hosting the tournament.
After that, the committee, together with the due diligence team, examined the guest rooms and convenience facilities of Onoma Hotel and Lotte City Hotel, which will be used as headquarters hotels, and checked the internal facilities of the Daejeon Convention Center (Exhibition Halls 1 and 2), which will be media centers, and media center and press The center operation was also explained.
