The Republic of Korea Air Force's aerobatic flight team, the Black Eagles, have won the King Hussein Memorial Sword for best overall flying demonstration and the As the Crow Flies Trophy, the top two honors at the famous British airshow Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT).

The Air Force on July 18 said the Black Eagles clinched both awards at RIAT in Fairford, a town in the county of Gloucestershire of the U.K.

This is the second time for the team to claim the two honors since the first in 2012.

The Black Eagles from July 15 held a 25-minute show once daily for three consecutive days.

On the first day of RIAT (July 15), the team performed the Taeguk sequence, which saw the jets form the shape of the Korean national flag Taegeukgi. They also showed 24 high-level maneuvers like the wedge roll that shows the front and rear of each jet.

The next day, the Black Eagles gave a memorial performance above the Korean War memorial in Burton-upon-Trent.

On July 17, the team performed with the Red Arrows, its British counterpart from the Royal Air Force, to boost friendship between the two air forces.

Thirty-eight teams from 34 countries participated in this year's RIAT, attracting more than 170,000 spectators.
