Mayor Lee Jang-woo meet up with UCLG Secretary General in the finalizing period of the UCLG World Congress

Secretary-General Emilia Saiz was warmly welcomed at the office of the Daejeon Convention Center.
Emilia Sizes has served as UCLG Secretary General since 2017, and the Secretariat is in full effort. Also, she visited our city last April and gave a full inspection of the conducted DMZ.
Mayor Lee Jang-woo said in his interview that Daejeon city was successful despite the aftermath of COVID-19.
The World Secretariat encourages active participation in the General Assembly and shows gratitude for the city's cooperation.
In addition, the President of UCLG in Daejeon emphasized that as a city of science and technology, "We're going to take a technological approach to the problems facing local governments around the world".
To that, Secretary General Emilia Saiz said, "Thank you for perfectly preparing all these events. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Mayor Jang-Woo Lee and other stakeholders. This meeting is not only a meeting of leaders but also a gathering of local governments from around the world. It is the most important event and an enjoyable festival,”  she said. "I will do my best to finish it successfully."

Finally, Mayor Lee said, "Through this UCLG General Assembly, we are going to make sure that the future of humanity is well established."
