Soprano Kim Hyo-shin graduated from Chungnam National University's (충남대학교) College of Arts with a degree in music. After that, she graduated from the Verdi Conservatory of Music (베르디 국립음악원) in Milan, Italy, with a perfect score of 10 in the Department of Opera and Artistic Music. She graduated from the Milan Verdi Conservatory of Music and the Bienio course, and from the Milan Municipal Conservatory of Music with the best performers.
She is a performer full of passion for learning music, as well as from the Donizetti Accademia Milano Department of Vocal Music, Choral Conducting and Music Therapy.
She has won numerous awards including Giuseppina Cobeli, 2nd place in Italy International Kongmul, Special Award for Enterprise at the 5th Korea Opera Awards, and Silver Award at the Daily Newspaper Vocal Competition. After she returned to Korea, she appeared in a solo recital at a rookie concert hosted by the Daejeon Arts Center and a rookie concert hosted by the Daejeon Music Association of Korea(대전음악협회가).
She has performed with the Vladivostok Pops Orchestra, with the DCMF Orchestra of the Daejeon International Concert, as "Aci" in G.F.Handel's serenata <Aci, Galatea e Polifemo>, as "Gretel" in E.Humperdinck's opera <Hansel und Gretel>, as "Belinda" from H.Purcell's opera <Dido and Aeneas> by Chungnam National University, as "Adina" from G.Donicetti's opera <L'elisir damore> commemorating the 60th anniversary of Chungnam National University, as "Amahl" from G.C.Menotti's opera <Amahl and the Night Visitors>, as "Erste Dame" from W.A.Mozart's opera <Die Zauberflöte>, as "Gilda" from G.Verdi's opera <Rigoletto>, as "Despina" from W.A.Mozart's opera <Cosi fan tutte>, F.Lehar He successfully completed the domestic premiere of "Valencienne" in the opera <The merry widow> and "Pinocchio" in P.Valtinoni's opera <Pinocchio>. She also received favorable reviews for her vivid portrayal of "Kim Eui-jin" in Baek Hyun-joo's creative opera <Scholar> and Choi Woo-jung's "Mina" in <As the Moon Walks into Water>. She has served as a soprano soloist in G.F.Handel's entertainment <Messiah HWV 56>, J.S.Bach's cantata <Church Cantata BWV 140>, and F.Mendelsshon's cantata <Lauda Sion Op.73>.
She has been invited to concerts in Milan, Monza and the Republic of San Marino. She has performed in Italy, she has performed 1 solo recital in Milan, 3 solo recitals in Korea, a concert to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Schumann’s birth, invited performance of Milan Wolf’s song, an invited performance by Yeongju Cultural Tourism Foundation, Daejeon Chamber Music Festival, Chungnam National University professor’s concert, etc.
She served as an adjunct professor at Chungnam National University and is currently active as a representative of Sejong Classic Stage, always a member of the ensemble sotto voce, and a professional opera performer.
