The Korea Tourism Club (CEO Lee Gwang-hyun) held its 16th regular meeting on the 7th at the Yeonpyeong Peace and Security Training Center in Ongjin-gun, Incheon, where 40 members gathered to discuss the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the tourism industry and to present a new vision for the future. At the meeting, the members unanimously elected Canari Travel Agency (까나리여행사) - CEO Lee Gwang-hyun as the new chairman of the club.

During the pandemic, many member companies of the Korea Tourism Club were affected by various incidents and accidents, including the closure of some businesses. The meeting aimed to bring these members together to discuss the changing reality of the tourism industry and to present a new vision for the future.

 

At the meeting, the executive board was restructured, with Park Bum-su (박범수 - CEO of Good Feeling International Co., Ltd. - 굿필링인터내셔널) as the new vice president, Lee Soon-kyu (이순규 - CEO of Tour Med) as the new auditor, and Lim Young-ja (임영자 - CEO of Hongik Travel Agency - 홍익여행사) as the new secretary-general. In addition, Kim Jeong-yeon (김정연 - LF Director), Lee Jeon-gyu (이전규 - O2 Travel Agency CEO - 오투여행사), Hwang Han-jo (황한조 - Director of Donghae Boyang Hot-spring Convention Hotel - 동해보양온천컨벤션호텔 부장), Park Jeon-gi (CEO of Hyundai Travel Agency - 현대여행사), and Kim Woo-joo (김우주 - CEO of Ujuro Travel Agency - 우주로여행사) were appointed as directors.

 

The meeting included various agenda items such as the approval of new executives, 2022 financial report, 2023 business plan and budget, and some amendments to the club's rules and regulations. In his address, the newly appointed chairman, Lee Gwang-hyun, emphasized the importance of identifying the changing patterns and perceptions of travelers amid the pandemic. He pledged to develop new products and services to meet the needs of travelers and strengthen the Korea Tourism Club's reputation as a trusted and prestigious name in the industry. He also highlighted the club's commitment to customer satisfaction and assembling a talented workforce to achieve this goal.

The Korea Tourism Club (Chairman Lee Gwang-hyun) held a fam tour on a 1 night 2 days itinerary, inviting 9 media outlets, as well as power bloggers, sponsored by the Incheon Metropolitan City Tourism Association and Koryo Express Bus, and visited locations in Ongjin-gun.

The tour, which took place on Yeonpyeong Island, known as the birthplace of 'dark tourism' included visits to peace and security sites as well as tourist attractions. The group also visited the Yeonpyeong Marine Corps, which owns K9 self-propelled artillery systems that are exported to Poland, where Lee Gwang-hyun, the chairman of the Korea Tourism Club, encouraged the soldiers and delivered a donation of 1 million won.

With more than 100 member companies across the country, the Korea Tourism Club is one of the leading organizations in the Korean tourism industry.
