The Korean government has announced the end of mask requirements on public transportation starting March 20, 2023. Therefore, wearing a mask is now a personal choice except for when visiting specific facilities with a mask requirement, including medical facilities and facilities vulnerable to infection.

Summary

1. Mask requirement no longer applies to the following:
1) Public transportation: Buses, taxis, subways, trains (KTX), airplanes, cruises, etc.
2) Drugstores inside supermarkets and subway stations

2. Mask requirement applies to the following:
1) Retail pharmacies
2) Facilities vulnerable to infection and medical facilities (hospitals, long-term medical care facilities, welfare facilities for persons with disabilities, etc.)
