The weather during my recent trip to Busan was absolutely delightful. The sun was just right - not too harsh - and it felt much cooler than Daejeon. The atmosphere was also much more pleasant. Perhaps it was because Busan is a popular tourist destination, but people on the streets seemed to exude a sense of ease and enjoyment. They strolled casually, chatted, and didn't seem in a rush even while waiting at red lights.
If I had to make a comparison, Busan reminded me a lot of Da Nang (a beach city in Viet Nam) - not as hectic as Seoul, nor as tranquil as Daejeon. For me, it's a fantastic place to live, should you ever have the opportunity to choose between the three.
As someone who grew up close to the coast, I didn't find Busan's beach particularly extraordinary. It's simply deeper and therefore bluer than other beaches I've seen, making it a beautiful spot for taking pictures. However, the waves are quite large, and people tend to only swim near the shore. There are also several roped-off areas nearby, as dangerous sea creatures are known to inhabit the waters.
Surfing seems to be a popular activity here, and if you're a beginner, there are many opportunities to learn. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to try it out this time, but it's definitely on my list for next time.
Restaurants in the area aren't necessarily seafood-focused like those back home, but they do offer a more diverse selection of European and Asian cuisine. If you're looking for seafood, I'd recommend checking out the fish market behind the beach instead of the restaurants lining the coast.
One of the highlights of my trip was experiencing a sunset cruise. It was my first time on a boat like this, and although it was a bit noisy, it reminded me of the romantic scenes from the novel "How long is forever?" in Lang Lang's birthday party on a yacht.
