After a long hiatus during the COVID-19 pandemic, Jeju Island will restore its visa-free system to overseas travelers beginning June 1, 2022.
Fully vaccinated visitors (proof/documentation is required) who are healthy can come to Jeju Island directly from abroad and stay for up to 30 days without a visa. All nationalities (minus 24 countries, see the list below) are eligible.
Though healthy travelers are not subject to quarantine rules, they must follow local rules regarding mask use indoors and other measures.
The JTO recommends that those interested in coming to Jeju Island using the visa-free system should confirm their travel eligibility with their local Korean embassy well in advance of their planned departure. (*) Note that these countries are not eligible: Sudan, Syria, Iran, Kosovo, Palestine, Afghanistan, Iraq, Ghana, Nigeria, Yemen, Egypt, Gambia, Cameroon, Senegal, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Somalia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Macedonia, and Cuba.
