The Capital Area Tourism Promotion Council, established in 1999 to promote mutual cooperation and revitalize the tourism industry in 5 cities and provinces (Gangwon, Seoul, Incheon, Gyeonggi, and Chungbuk), recently conducted a domestic fam tour. From May 22nd to 25th, the council invited domestic media and travel agencies to participate in the tour.

So Jeong-hyun reporter of ‘Ilyo Weekly - 일요 주간’ who attended this event said “It was a trip that made me realize that going one step further from observing how people live and entering into the lifestyle of locals is true local tourism.”
Baek Chang-seok director of the Culture and Tourism Department of Gangwon Province said “This fam tour was conducted in line with the trend as demand for local tourism is increasing. Through this fam tour, we will strive to widely publicize various tourist resources in 5 cities and provinces so that regionally balanced development and regional tourism can be revitalized.”
This fam tour provided an excellent opportunity for participants to explore local value and experience regional delights. The Capital Area Tourism Promotion Council continues to promote local tourism in 5 cities and provinces.
