Gajisan Mountain (1,241m), located on the border of Ulju-gun of Ulsan and Cheongdo-gun of Gyeongsangbuk-do, is the highest peak of the Ulsan mountain range called “the Yeongnam Alps” with seven mountains with an altitude of 1,000 m or higher above sea level. Every season, the mountain embodies the beauty of nature with azalea in spring, leafy shades in summer, foliage in autumn, and snow in winter. Especially in spring, the Population of Royal Azaleas in Gajisan Mountain (Natural Monument No. 462) tints all the mountains in red and pink, creating a spectacular view. Seongnamsa Temple located at the entrance of the mountain, oddly formed rocks such as Ssalbawi and Gwibawi Rocks in harmony with silver grass fields, and the ridge leading to Unmunsan Mountain make hiking all the more enjoyable.
