Korea's largest shopping and travel festival "Korea Sale Festa 2020" will take place from November 1 to 15.
The Korean Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Energy on October 23 had a meeting with the Korea Sale Festa Promotion Committee to share the event plan. The event promotion committee said that there are 1,328 registered participants so far, twice as high as last year, with a variety of items such as cars, clothing, home appliances, and cosmetics. This year's program will take place in 17 provinces and cities across the country, the largest scale since the festival was first held in 2016.
Companies participating in the event will be held both online and in-person with a variety of gift-winning programs and games. In addition to domestic events, promotions for foreigners will also be widely held to find international customers and expand exports.
The industry, trade, and energy minister Sung Yun-mo said that given the epidemic control, holding a shopping festival is necessary to spur consumption. The Minister emphasized that the government will give all the support, turning this event into a delicate springboard through policies such as providing coupons, increasing credit card limits, and reducing consumption tax for cars.
