Marking the 2022 New Year, Daejeon Shinsegae Gallery is holding an art exhibition called "ART Daejeon: My First Collection" where you can appreciate about 500 works by 123 domestic and foreign artists.

"My First Collection" exhibition features a lot of timeless Korean artists. They are Park Seo-bo (1391-), Lee U-fan (1936-), representing monochromatic painting; master of water drop painting Kim Chang-Yeol (1929-2021); Kim Tae-ho (b. 1948-), who shows rhythmic scenes through repetition and intersection; Baek Nam-Joon (1932-2006), the founder of media art; Jang Uk-jin (1917-1990), who has been loved and admired for his beautiful innocent paintings; Seo Se-Ok (1929-), who inherited the tradition of ink painting as modern art, and Seo Do-ho (1962-); who established himself as a world-class artist.

ART

And of course, various works by emerging artists such as Kim Woo-jin, Kim Chan-song, Na Hyun-jin, and Moon Seong, who are actively working in Daejeon, will be displayed together, and the Shinsegae Gallery and Art Terrace will be transformed into art venues during the exhibition period.

There are also plenty of amazing artworks by world-famous artists presented at ART Daejeon: My First Collection. The artists can be named as David Hockney (1937-), who is also known as 'the most expensive painter in the world'; Alex Katz (1927-), who presents a series of unique figures; Julian Opie (1958-), depicts a walking modern man; Hernan bas (1978-), a Miami-born artist who is drawing attention from the art world; a master of Japanese pop art, Takashi Murakami ( Village Sang-隆, 1962-); and Eva Armisen (1969-), a world-famous master who conveys the warmth of a fairy tale.

As the art market has been hotter than ever, interest in art has risen, while works have become both an object of appreciation and investment, and the value of art in our daily lives has risen. Also, as can be seen in children's picture play, art is the closest creative activity to us. Shinsegae Gallery selects works that represent both artistic and marketability in a balanced way, providing an opportunity to meet and own the works of artists that fit one's taste. I look forward to this exhibition as an opportunity to create my first art collection.
