The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism (MCST), partnered with the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO), is hosting K-Travel Week from May 1 to May 6 in Abu Dhabi and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The event first kicked off through the Arabian Travel Market (May 1-4), the most prominent travel fair held in the Middle East, followed by holding an IR (investor relations) seeking cooperation opportunities with tourism startup businesses; and hosting K-Tourism Roadshow to promote Korean culture to the local residents.

KTO has also announced the news of hosting Korea Tourism Night on May 4 (local time) to showcase Korea tours and packages related to K-culture, medical tourism, and wellness tourism to approximately 100 personnel involved in the tourism and media industry in the UAE. In addition, K-Tourism Roadshow will take place from May 5 to 6, promoting Korea’s food culture and offering diverse activities like trying on hanbok, showing Korean movies, and holding dance events.

“This first-ever Korea Tourism Startup IR in the Middle East will set the foundation for the tourism industry to lead the second wave of Middle East boom,” said  Lee Jae-Hwan, the vice president of KTO, adding that, “I am confident this marks the beginning of Korea tourism businesses to grow and expand in the Middle Eastern market.” The achievements from the IR are receiving much attention in the domestic market as well.
