1. Naejangsan Mountain in Jeongeup-si, Jeollabuk-do 

Naejangsan National Park boasts a high volume of visitors in late October, as to be expected from a top foliage destination. The most remarkable feature of this mountain during autumn is the tunnel of multicolored maple trees that begins at the ticket office. The maple trees that make up this tunnel stretch for approximately 800 meters planted at 5-meter intervals, making photos taken here appear perfectly composed.

A feast for the eyes throughout the year, rich colors make Seoraksan the main attraction in autumn. The most popular route to see the view of the East Sea, Sokcho, and Daecheongbong Peak is the Ulsanbawi Rock Course, whereas the best places to enjoy the leaves are at Cheonbuldong Valley, Osaek Mineral Spring, Osaek Jujeongol, and Baekdam Valley.

3. Gingko Tree Road in Asan 

The Asan Gingko Tree Road is believed to be the epitome of all fall scenery. It is a long avenue lined with towering trees and the leaves of these trees turn a gorgeous golden yellow during autumn offering the panoramic landscapes. One might feel as if its a yellow brick road brought to life! You can either walk down the road or go for a drive to explore the enticing beauty of this road.

4. Bulguksa Temple in Gyeongsangbuk-do

Bulguksa Temple was designated as a World Cultural Asset by UNESCO in 1995. It represents the relic of Gyeongju and was constructed in 528 during the reign of the Silla Kingdom. The temple underwent numerous renovations between the 10th century to the 16th century and comprises of numerous cultural relics such as Dabotap Pagoda, Seokgatap Pagoda, Amita Pagoda, Saritap Pagoda, and a lot more. One can witness the traditional tea ceremony and cherish the opportunity of waking up at the crack of dawn together with monks and explore the hallowed temple grounds. Jirisan extends across three provinces (Jeollanam-do, Jeollabuk-do, Gyeongsangnam-do), and many visitors choose to go on overnight hiking trips to fully appreciate the mountain. For those looking for a good hiking course, Hwaeom Valley Trail is the representative trail of Jeollanam-do.
