Mokwon University in Daejeon signed MOU with the English Media - Walkinto Korea

Mokwon University, led by President Hee-Hak Lee, located in Daejeon Metropolitan City, and Walk into Korea (CEO Dae-Hoon Kang), the only English media specializing in overseas publicity south of the Han River, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on June 16th. The agreement aims to foster mutual cooperation in international promotion, laying the foundation for Mokwon University's sustainable development as a prestigious global private institution. As the landscape of university education in Korea rapidly evolves, Mokwon University actively participates in various initiatives, such as global collaboration, to enhance its domestic and international competitiveness. In line with this objective, the university has pledged to work closely with Walk into Korea to facilitate global public relations collaboration.

The MOU outlines several significant cooperative projects. These include joint initiatives to foster the innovative growth of Mokwon University, cultivate young global leaders among its students, and strengthen the university brand through global marketing efforts. In particular, Walk into Korea, leveraging its robust international business network, has committed to supporting Mokwon University students' global employment and entrepreneurial endeavors, as well as facilitating the enrollment of foreign students at Mokwon University and their subsequent job placements within the country.

Established in 1954, Mokwon University holds the distinction of being the first private university in Daejeon. Over the past nearly 70 years, the university has gained recognition for producing influential figures in various cultural arts and theological domains. Notably, Mokwon University recently made headlines by forming an alliance with Paichai University, marking the first-ever integration of different fields among Korean universities. Under the Glocal Universities 30 Project, an ambitious initiative by the Ministry of Education, the two universities have jointly applied for complete integration and plan to operate three specialized campuses, including a Korean language education center and an international student employment support center.

President Lee Hee-hak, an alumnus of Mokwon University, holds a doctorate in theology from Germany's Humboldt University. He has served the university in various capacities, including academic affairs, international education, and external cooperation.

Under President Lee's guidance, Mokwon University aims to become a student-centered institution by strengthening education and research. This entails supporting students in designing their own career paths through a new modular major education program, embracing ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management, fostering innovation in cultural arts, and forging strong financial foundations through collaborations with local enterprises in the region.
