Approval of the competition period, selection and competition logo have been decided during the meeting.

On the 1st, six delegates, including Lee Chang-seop, vice chairman of the organizing committee, attended the executive committee of the International University Sports Federation (FISU) in the first half of 2024 in Lausanne, Switzerland. The meeting was held after the first report in Chengdu, China (July 27, 2023) to check the progress and receive final approval from the FISU on major agendas.

First, the official competition period for the 2027 Chungcheong Summer World University Games will be from August 1 to 12, 2027 (12 days in total) through agreement with the International University Sports Federation (FISU), the International Federation (IF), and the National Sports Federation (NF). During this period, university student-athletes from all over the world will participate in the competition.

Rowing, beach volleyball, and golf have been selected as the optional sports, and a total of 18 events, including 15 required sports, are scheduled to be held. Rowing events will be held at Tangeum Lake International Rowing Stadium in Chungju, North Chungcheong Province. beach volleyball will be played on the beach near the Mud Festival Stadium in Boryeong, South Chungcheong Province. In the case of Golf competitions, the final selection will be made through a decision by the FISU Technical Committee Chair (TCC) in November. There are a total of 15 mandatory sports, including archery, mechanical gymnastics, track and field, badminton, basketball, diving, fencing, judo, rhythmic gymnastics, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis, volleyball, and water polo.

Additionally, the Organizing Committee selected the logo symbolizing the competition after consulting experts and conducting an online and offline preference survey to create a symbol representing the identity and value of the competition. Therefore, this was approved at the executive committee meeting. The competition logo will go through the next steps, including mascot development, and will be announced in the second half of this year.

Meanwhile, the FISU inspection team will visit Chungcheong Province from May 20 to 24 this year to inspect the Venue and host the FISU Sports Seminar. This visit will be an important opportunity to check the preparations of the competition and make preparations for better operation before the FISU Technical Committee (TCC) visits in November.

This decision by the FISU Executive Committee, which was an important step toward the successful hosting of the 2027 Chungcheong Summer World University Games, represents a great step forward in preparation for the competition. Vice Chairman Lee Chang-seop stated, “We will continue to work closely with all stakeholders to ensure that the competition is successfully prepared and operated.”
