Dodamsambong is a famous place in Danyang-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do, and is one of the Eight Views of Danyang. It is an island consisting of three rocks in the middle of the Namhangang River.
The beautiful and unique scenery of the peaks exposed above the water is popular as a tourist destination.
According to the folktale, Sambongsan Mountain in Jeongseon-gun, Gangwon-do, was washed away during the flood and became what is now Dodamsambong, and every year, Danyang was paying taxes to Jeongseon-gun. Jeong Do-jeon, a founding contributor of the Joseon Dynasty, said in his childhood, "We didn't ask you to bring Sambong down from Jeongseon, but Sambong is rather damaging by blocking the water path." There is no reason to pay taxes on the peak that is of no use, so take it back if you need it." Since then, Danyang-gun has reportedly stopped paying taxes.
Yangbaeksan Mountain has an observatory where you can see the whole Danyang-gun at a glance and a glide factory where you can enjoy paragliding. You can get to the top by car.
