Dong-gu, Daejeon (District Mayor Hwang In-ho) announced that it will light up night scenery lights from the 27th to provide various attractions through the drive-through to the area of Daecheong Lake Cherry Blossom Road, a nationwide cherry blossom attraction.
Daecheong Lake Cherry Blossom Road is called the "longest cherry blossom road in the world" and is a tourist attraction visited by residents and countless tourists from all over the country every year.
The district plans to illuminate the entire cherry blossom road with white floodlights, some of which will add colorful lights to create a fantastic atmosphere, driving along the white cherry blossom tunnel, which runs about 1.2 kilometers from Daecheong Lake's Cherry Blossom Hall (282 Shin Sang-dong, Dong).
Also, the landscape lighting, which will be installed on Daecheong Lake Cherry Blossom Road, will be lit every evening (6-10 p.m.) until the 18th of next month even after the cherry blossoms are gone.
Hwang In-ho(District Mayor) said, "We will install nightscape lights around the cherry blossom road to meet the movement of tourism demand by outdoor and night tourism rather than by day due to the continuous COVID-19 spread.“
Meanwhile, this year's Daecheong Lake Cherry Blossom Festival will be held by canceling all events held at the site and replacing them with non-face-to-face programs to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 region.
