Introduction

A dense forest of knowledge, which consists of several research institutes, observatories, museums, and science halls, surrounds the Daedeok Science Road of Daedeok R&D Special District, which is a place where science and nature meet. Unlike other hiking paths, this road is a family-type olle-gil trail where visitors can tour the research complex of the most advanced science related facilities, as well as mountains parks, and streams.

Around Course 1, stretching over 11.10km from Kumdori Land within Expo Park to Mt. Hwabongsan, Daedeok University in Hwaam Intersection, Korea Research Institute of Standards & Science, and all the way to Maebong Park, there are Expo Park and Kumdori Land. As for cultural properties, there are Sunghyeonseowon and the Tomb of Kim Ik Hee, making it a healthy mountain course where children can understand the cultural monuments of our city.

Daedeok Special District Olle-gil Course 2 | Sinseong, Mt. Seongdusan Trail

Course 2 stretches over 10.00km from National Science Museum to Mt. Seongdusan Park, Tandongcheon Stream, Daejeon Observatory and the mountain at the back of Chungnam National University, all the way to Gung-dong. It is a course where you can learn about nature and experience science culture as you explore the funded research institutes along Tandongcheon Stream.
