President of the Daejeon Film Association, Mr. Sung Nak-won has been selected the winner of the 2021 Hanbit Awards for Culture and Arts.

Daejeon Culture Broadcasting Corporation and Hanwha Group have selected the winners of the 2021 Hanbit Grand Prize to find hidden workers in various fields in the community and promote them widely.

Seong Nak-won, president of the Daejeon Film Association, was selected as the winner of the 2021 Hanbit Grand Prize culture and arts category.

Director Seong Nak-won greatly contributed to the development of the video industry in Daejeon by running the largest video production company in the central region where the video industry did not develop. He trained the younger generation through lectures at universities and cultural centers academies related to the video. It also took the lead in enjoying culture and arts and finding self-esteem by providing movie watching sessions to children, teenagers, housewives, the elderly, and multicultural families.

For more than 20 years, the Korea Youth Film Festival, the Fish Eye International Film Festival, and the International Youth Arts Festival were established to help teenagers demonstrate their skills to discover and nurture filmmakers who will lead the Korean Wave.

The awards ceremony will be held on October 22 at the Daejeon MBC Open Hall to mark the 57th anniversary of Daejeon MBC's foundation.
