Artience Daejeon, a convergence art support program run by the Daejeon Foundation for Arts and Culture, will hold an exhibition of results from November 4 (Thursday) to 14 (Sunday) in the exhibition room of the Daejeon artist's house.
Artience is a compound word of art (ART) and science (SCIENCE), and is a program that supports the convergence creation process of art and science by participating artists based on the infrastructure of the Daedeok Research Complex in Daejeon. This program began in 2011, and artists are selected through annual public offerings to support the creative support fund and the collaboration process with researchers at government-funded research institutes in Daedeok Research Complex.
Last year and this year, among government-funded research institutes, it is operating in cooperation with the Korea Institute of Machinery and Engineering, the Korea Institute of Geological Resources, and the Korea Institute of Standards and Science. From 2019, participating artists will be supported for two consecutive years to ensure creative activities and provide opportunities for extensive art experiments.
This exhibition introduces installation, video, and interactive works inspired by Korea's best and latest scientific concepts based on mentoring and consultation with collaborative researchers by Kim Jong-un, Kim Tae-yeon, Park Hye-in, So Soo-bin, Andes, Lee Ji-yeon, Han Dong-seok, and IVAAIUCITY. The Artisans War will continue to experiment with science and art.
