Zombies in Korea have captivated the world yet again, this time with those wearing high school uniforms.

Since its release on Jan. 28, Netflix's original Korean series "All of Us Are Dead" has topped the global streaming giant's weekly top 10 list with 124.79 million hours viewed, the most among English- or non-English-language shows.

Though data for the fourth week of last month (Jan. 24-30) reflected just three days of viewing information on the drama, the series saw its number of hours viewed in its first week of release being twice that of "Squid Game" (63.19 million) and four times that of "Hellbound" (43.48 million).

"All of Us Are Dead" on Jan. 29 was the most-watched TV show worldwide according to FlixPatrol, a Netherlands-based site that ranks over-the-top streaming content, and held the top spot for the fifth consecutive day as of Feb. 2.

The zombie thriller is the second Korean drama after "Hellbound" to debut at the top. "Squid Game" started at No. 5 and took five days to ascend to the summit.

"All of Us Are Dead" also topped the Netflix charts in 58 countries including Korea, Australia, Austria, Bangladesh and Bolivia and ranked second in the U.S. for three straight days.

Major foreign media also gave the drama positive reviews. The British daily Guardian in the article "All of Us Are Dead: Netflix's Korean zombie show will blow you away" called the series "a world-beating piece of doomy existentialism."

The U.S. pop culture magazine Variety added, "Like 'Squid Game' before it, 'All of Us Are Dead' makes the most out of its nightmarish central location to otherworldly, dizzying effect."

"All of Us Are Dead" is about students trapped at a high school after a zombie virus spreads and fight to survive. The 12-episode series is based on an original Korean webtoon.
