Following the craze of K-Pop, the reputation of K-Food is hitting the global village. Korean kimchi and dumplings have become the food of the world.

On Friday, April 8, under the host of Overseas Korean Business Network & Halal Korea Co. Ltd. and WalkintoKorea and the sponsorship of WTCO (World's Top Chefs Organization) marketers from Indonesia, Pakistan, Canada, Germany, Uzbekistan, Russia, Egypt, and Korea have gathered at the 3rd Global Business Networking Day for a heated discussion on the topic of ‘How to market Korean food?’.

David Mason, Professor of Cultural Tourism, Sejong University, who attended the event, said that Halal food was not properly provided at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, causing great inconvenience to some athletes and officials. He said it was a shame for Global Korea.

This May, Kang Deahoon, Senior Advisor to WTCO, who's in charge of marketing of Seoul International Food & Tableware Festival & Seoul World Food Olympics hosted by WTCO, has invited all the participants and set up a group session, where they will post their impressions, photos, and videos and spread to the world through each marketer's SNS channels.

WalkintoKorea, a PR media, publishes itself as an article and promotes it globally through various multilingual channels. The marketers who participated in the event and wrote about it will be sponsored for a predetermined amount and product by WTCO. In addition, WTCO and WalkintoKorea will award the person who provides the most number of views.

Kim Jin-Woo, president of OK-Network, who hosted this event (CEO of Overseas Korean Business Network, Halal Korea), suggested that the food problem causes the greatest inconvenience to foreigners living in Korea. In particular, he said, "We plan to propose Halal service response for Muslim settlers to the government and consult the industry."

Yongjin Nam, co-chairman of WTCO, which sponsors this event, said that he hopes that the participants from each country participating in the Seoul International Food & Tableware Festival and Seoul World Food Olympics to be held in May will promote their countries through food and the event could become an exciting festival of food exchange.

Meanwhile, Kang Deahoon, the organizer of this event, proposed that he would upgrade the WTCO's scale to a larger global event and make it a venue for cultural exchange that contributes to the promotion of the Korean Wave and world peace.
