Daejeon City announced on the 27th that it held a briefing session on the detailed operation plan of the 2022 Daejeon United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) General Assembly (hereinafter the Daejeon General Assembly) in the middle meeting room of the city hall.
This day's report was attended by Daejeon Mayor Lee Jang-woo, secretary general of the Daejeon General Assembly Organizing Committee, international relations ambassadors, and related offices and heads of departments.
The Daejeon Games organizer reported on the overall operation of the General Assembly, including the five-day event schedule and venue use plan negotiated with the World Secretariat so far, performance programs for each official event, sessions for each theme of the Daejeon track, and participant support.
In addition, the progress was reported on 22 global citizen festivals such as cultural performances and regional festivals, and related events such as smart exhibitions that achieved 100% of the target of attracting 60 institutions.
Daejeon Mayor Lee Jang-woo carefully checked the preparations for the remaining two months before the general meeting in accordance with the current conditions, such as concerns about the re-spread of the infectious disease and the overseas situation.
In particular, the mayor asked for thorough preparations for hybrid meetings to expand participants, inviting domestic and foreign participants, and domestic public relations to strengthen Daejeon's status.
In addition, mayor Lee took off the banner for the mayor's inauguration and posted a promotional banner for the Daejeon General Assembly in earnest, and instructed the public to actively promote it.
At the end of the briefing session, Daejeon Mayor Lee Jang-woo instructed, "The agency should do its best to prepare carefully for the success of the event and cooperate actively in the office and bureau," and especially ordered "thorough preparation for infectious diseases such as COVID-19 and monkey head intestines."
