The 2022 Gyeryong World Military Culture Expo is the long-awaited event of the year. It was supposed to take place last year but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, now than ever, a celebration of hope and peace is what everyone needs.
The city of Gyeryong, Chungcheongnamdo (계룡) has long been considered favorable in fengshui and blessed with beautiful natural landscapes. Gyeryong also possesses a great geographical advantage which it can reach anywhere nationwide within 2 hours. In the early 1980s, many central organizations of Korean Nation Defense moved to Gyeryong along with military families and facilities. Nowadays, half of the population of Gyeryong is military service person. Various armed force events are held here in order to turn it into a new mecca of the military force.
The World Military Culture Expo will be a spectacular showcase of what technology and culture have to offer. There will be demonstrations of weapons and martial arts such as the Korean National Defense Pavilion and Military Scientific Combat Experience Pavilion. Participants can also be a part of the event as they are allowed to briefly experience the usage of military equipment.
Although it is an event dedicated to armed forces, the 2022 Gyeryong World Military Culture Expo is not limited to only demonstrating military strength. With the message of "Harmony of Peace", it also celebrates the diversity of South Korea's culture. There will be various outdoor activities suitable for guests of all ages, World Military Music festival and traditional performances, all enacted by military personnel.
