Daejeon Metropolitan City announced that it will hold the 7th "World Science Culture Forum" online and offline at the Daejeon Convention Center's 2nd Exhibition Hall from October 20th (Thu) to 21st (Fri) with Association of Heads of Institutions in Daedeok Research and Development Special Zone (Chairman Kim Jang-sung, 김장성)

Daejeon Metropolitan City announced that it will hold the 7th World Science and Culture Forum online and offline at the Daejeon Convention Center's 2nd Exhibition Hall from October 20th (Thu) to 21st (Fri) with the Daedeok Innopolis Association's R&D Department (대덕연구개발특구).
The "World Science Culture Forum" marks its seventh anniversary this year, selects "Science, Connecting the Future of Cities" as the forum theme and will hold "Global Lecture" and "TED Lecture" on the 20th and 21st, respectively.
This forum will invite domestic speakers and science communicators to give lectures and talk shows. In particular, it will showcase a science and culture performance organized by local science and culture experts and artists.

In the global lecture held on October 20, domestic and foreign speakers will give lectures on the theme of Green City and Smart City.
The first speaker of Future City is Deputy Mayor Krista Adams of  Brisbane, Australia. The mayor sent an online video relaying the message "Brie, the city of opportunity that overflowing with life".

Park Hyung-joo (박형주), a professor of mathematics at Ajou University (ii Ajou University's Ex-President), will then give a lecture emphasizing the learning infrastructure of "the studying human race in the digital age."
In the second theme of "Green City," Philippe M. Heynderickx, a professor of global campus environmental engineering at Ghent University, and Lee Jin-sook (이진숙), President of Chungnam National University, will continue the lecture. Professor Heynderickx will give a lecture under the theme of "Photocatalyst for Green City, Current Application and Future Tasks," and President Lee Jin-sook will share the content of "Creating a Green City where nature and humans coexist."
In the last theme, "Smart City," Tsz-Chui Au, a professor of computer engineering at the Ulsan Institute of Science and Technology, and Kim Do-nyeon  (김도년), a professor of architecture at Sung Kyun Kwan University, will be presenters. After talking about Professor Tsz-Chiu Au's "How will AI change our daily lives in the future?", professor Kim Do-nyeon will deliver the theme of "Smart City, Digital Transformation and Innovation in Places."

Father Kim In-joong (김인중) of Dominic Monastery will give a lecture on "Stand Glass, Fantasy of Light and Color" as the first presenter of Art City, followed by Lee Jung-seop (이정섭), CEO of Bipole, who will introduce "Aesthetic Engineering." After the lecture, Science Communicator Song Young-jo (송영조) will be on the panel and host a talk show.
In the TED lecture, which will be held on October 21, domestic speakers will give lectures on the theme of Smart City Interactive City Life, and science communicators will be on the panel to communicate with citizens.

Under the theme of urban interaction, urban engineer Jung Woo-sung (정우성), professor of industrial management engineering at Pohang University of Science and Technology, and statistical physicist Kim Bum-joon (김범준), professor of physics at Sungkyunkwan University, will be presenters. The lecture will be held under the theme of "City and Humanity from the Site," and Professor Kim Bum-joon will share the content of "City and Complexity". Science communicator Lee Sun-ho 이선호(엑소) will then appear as a guest and share stories related to the main topic.

The last lecture of the World Science and Culture Forum will be held under the theme of City Life. Park Da-jung (박다정), a local creator who draws the joy of Daejeon, communicates under the theme of "The Daily Life of a Young Writer Living in Daejeon," and Dr. Jang Dong-sun (장동선) of Curious Brain Lab will give a lecture on "Don't Look Up-Why Scientific Thinking for the Future is Important." After the lecture, science communicator Lee Jae-beom (이재범) who has 800,000 YouTube subscribers, will participate as a panel and hold a talk show.
Dr. Kim Jang-sung(김장성), chairman of the World Science Culture Forum, said, "I hope this forum will enhance the status of Daejeon, a city of science and culture, and establish itself as a forum for scientists and artists to communicate not only in Korea but also all over the world."
On the other hand, this forum can be participated offline through pre-application and field participation and can be viewed online through Youtube.
