Daejeon National Forest was officially opened on October 18, 2019. Even though it has been more than half a year since it opened due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all facilities are still in pristine condition. Daejeon National Forest is located all the way to the mountain past Bangdong Reservoir. There is a parking lot at the entrance, and there is also a parking lot to the left of the building. All parking is free.
Daejeon National Forest is operated by the Korea Forest Welfare Institute (한국산림복지진흥원) and has been established and operated throughout the country since 3 years ago. It is a place created for the sole purpose of resting comfortably in the clear nature of the forest and gaining knowledge about the forest to improve the quality of life for the people.
Daejeon National Forest was created in the southern valley and foot of Mt. Bingye and Geumsubong, and created five forest trails along the mountain path. The route is well-marked on its pictorial map signboard. It is the only one of the national forests that has an elevator installed so that elderly people using wheelchairs can experience the forest on the mountain trail. If you go up by elevator, you can pass through this overpass and follow the barrier-free deck road to experience the forest. If you want to learn something new about the forest, you can go up to the deck road, and each tree has a QR code, so if you scan the QR code with your smartphone, you can see the description of the tree. But you should be careful and pay attention to signs with bugs and animals as this is a natural forest.
