Goesan County Office to Sign Business Agreement with The Union Of Korean Foods in Japan to Boost Agricultural Exports, Meeting with Mayor Watanabe in Kisarazu City as part of friendly exchange agreement with Goesan County, To Study Successful Strategies for Overcoming Rural extinction by Visiting Model Village

Goesan County Office, led by County Mayor Song In-heon, in Chungcheongbuk-do, will embark on a visit to Japan to advance the distribution of agri-food and to gain insights into successful strategies for overcoming rural extinction.

Eight Officials, including County Mayor Song In-heon, Set to Journey to Japan for Four-Day tour from February 7, 2023, as Part of County's Plans.

Goesan County Office will ink a business agreement with The Union Of Korean Foods in Japan, encompassing mutual understanding on agricultural imports and exports, product planning, and co-marketing aimed at increasing agricultural exports.

On the following day, Mayor Song will tour the agricultural product market at Umakutanosato-gil Station in Chiba Prefecture to survey the local market and hold a meeting with Mayor Yoshikuni Watanabe in Kisarazu City, Chiba Prefecture, which has established a friendly exchange agreement with Goesan-gun.

During the meeting, as two cities that have established friendship and cooperation, they will engage in business discussions to explore ways of promoting organic agriculture and strengthening mutual cooperation in the import and export of agricultural products.

On the third day of the tour, Goesan County, which is designated as a population-declining region, will pay a visit to Kawaba Village in Gunma Prefecture, a model village that has overcome rural extinction, to gain firsthand knowledge of its successful practices.

The Goesan County intends to tour key facilities of Kawabahvillage companies, learn the secrets of success through meetings with the head of Kawabah village and the president of the village company, and identify strategies that can be applied in Goesan-gun.

According to County Mayor Song In-heon, the purpose of the visit to Japan is to address crucial issues for the advancement of Goesan County, including revitalizing agricultural distribution, fostering friendly exchanges, and overcoming rural depopulation.
