The Seoul Guided Walking Tour is a free program offered by Seoul, designed for tourists who want to see Seoul’s top tourist attractions on foot under the expert guidance of multilingual tour guides.

Who are Seoul Cultural Tourism Volunteer Guides?

​Seoul Cultural Tourism Volunteer Guides are experts knowledgeable in Seoul's history and culture. They volunteer as guides to help tourists understand Seoul in a deeper way.

Walking Tour Introduction

About

There are about 40 different tours available, classified under 8 themes ([Palace] [Hanok&Village] [City Wall Dulle-Gil] [Urban Regeneration] [Architecture&Arts], etc).

Open Hours

  • Weekdays: 10am, 2pm / Weekends: 10am, 2pm, 3pm
  • Gyeongbokgung: 10:30am, 2:30pm

Number of Participants

  • Individual: Up to 10 people Group
  • Gyeongbokgung/Changgyeonggung/Changdeokgung: 20 people maximum

Language

  • Korean, English, Japanese, Chinese

Admissions

  • Free (Admission fees to the royal palaces & fees for cultural experience programs, etc. are NOT included in the tours and must be paid separately.)

Walking Tour Reservation Information

Making Reservations

  • Reservations must be made online at least three days in advance. Reservations can be made via the internet and mobile web at dobo.visitseoul.net
  • All reservations can be made on the Visit Seoul mobile website (m.dobo.visitseoul.net)
  • As tour guides are volunteers, reservations may not be available due to tour guides' unavailability.
  • Spots fill up quickly on weekends, holidays, and during peak season (April, May, September, October), so if you would like to make a reservation during this time, please consider reserving in advance.

Viewing / Cancelling Reservations

  • Your reservation details will be sent to you via mobile text message and e-mail. You can also check the reservation details on the "View / Cancel Reservation" page on the website/mobile.
  • Other tourists may join your tour as long as it does not exceed the maximum number of the group.
  • You may cancel the reservation via website (PC and mobile phone) until 24 hours prior to the tour.
  • If you must cancel the tour after then, please send an email to walkingtours@sto.or.kr or contact your guide.
  • If you are unable to go on a tour, please cancel the reservation at least 4 hours before the tour starts.
  • If you cancel your reservation more than twice with less than 4 hours left, future reservations may be restricted.

Meeting Place

  • Meet at the designated meeting place for each tour.
