From July 26th to August 3rd, for a total of 9 days, the "Discover NEOM: A New Future by Design" exhibition will take place at the Seoul Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP). The event, organized by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport - 국토교통부 (Minister Won Hee-ryong) in collaboration with NEOM (CEO Nadhmi Al-Nasr), promises to offer a glimpse into the imaginative world of future cities.
The exhibition will showcase revolutionary urban planning and design concepts, including "The Line", as well as innovative design philosophies and city layouts from key projects such as Okssagon, Trojan, and Sindalah.
Nadhmi Al-Nasr, the CEO of NEOM, expressed his excitement for hosting the "Discover NEOM" tour in Korea, a long-standing friend and partner of Saudi Arabia. He emphasized the significant role Korean companies play in various fields, from construction to transportation, collaborating with NEOM in their core projects. He believes this opportunity will further strengthen the cooperation and economic development between both countries.
Minister Won Hee-ryong highlighted that the exhibition would not only satisfy the curiosity of the Korean people about NEOM but also stimulate their imaginations regarding future cities. He believes the event will provide fresh inspiration and a catalyst for transformative thinking across diverse industries, including construction, mobility, energy, and IT. Furthermore, he expressed hope that the exhibition would serve as a platform to enhance collaboration and mutual growth between NEOM and Korean companies, contributing to the success of the NEOM project.
One of the attendees, Kang Dea Hoon, the CEO of Walkinto Korea, praised the conceptual design showcased at the exhibition, noting that such ideas transcend mere financial and technological capabilities. He emphasized that the foundation for such innovations lies in the rich myths and unconscious elements of the Arabian region. Kang Dae-hoon shared his belief that imagination is a resource more valuable than any tangible asset and plays a fundamental role in advancing humanity. He concluded by expressing his best wishes for the success of Saudi Arabia's 2030 post-oil vision and the NEOM project.
