World Scout Jamboree, an international youth event held every four years, is marking its 25th anniversary this year at Saemangeum in Buan, Jeollabuk-do.

The event takes place from August 1 to 12, and it’s been 32 years since it was last held in Korea. This makes Korea the sixth country to have hosted World Scout Jamboree twice.

A total of 43,000 scouts from 150 countries across the globe will flock to Korea and engage in diverse activities such as starting fires, building rafts, and island trekking. Regional programs are also prepared for the first time, giving the youths an opportunity to look around places like Jeonju Hanok Village, Muju Taekwondowon, Buan Nesosa Temple, and the “BTS Road” in Wanju. There will also be programs where the general public can also participate. In particular, a spectacular lineup of K-pop stars like IVE, STAYC, NMIXX, and more will perform at a special concert on Cultural Exchange Day on August 6.

The Korea Tourism Organization will set up a promotional hall at the Delta Center from August 2 to 11 to promote Korean tourism through media, visual guides, and a variety of activities such as Color your Korea event, sending mail to the future through a slow postbox, and prize events. A promotional booth for VISITKOREA and K-friends will also be set up on August 7 and 8.
