Daejeon Metropolitan City and Sejong City are cities that can be known as filming locations for movies and dramas. Specifically, the films <Korea>, <The Attorney>, <C'est si bon>, and <Princess Deokhye> were filmed in Daejeon. Sejong City also frequently appeared in movies such as "The Foul King", dramas "반올림" and "The Snow Queen" (2006). In order to bring such film and drama production sites into tourism, photo spot data company "Snapot" and global promotional media "Workinto Korea" are producing photo spot information services for filming locations of Daejeon and Sejong K-contents.
Since COVID-19, there has been approximately 6 million foreigners visit Korea annually due to the influence of the Korean Wave. Moreover, a growing of tourists is needed to boost the visits to travel destinations encountered in movies, dramas, and SNS to take pictures to promote the destinations and keep memories. Therefore, these consumption activities should be linked to local tourism. However, it was difficult to find photo spots due to language barriers and a lack of filming location information for tourists, especially foreign tourists. With the support of Daejeon and Sejong Tourism Business Support Center, data companies can collect and provide data from drama filming locations and promote media companies to the global community.
As part of this project, a foreign fam tour was conducted on November 24, 2023, focusing on visiting drama filming locations in Daejeon.
Participated in the program were Danish and Pragati from India, Mega from Indonesia, Hai yen, and Han from Vietnam. They finished filming happily by directing scenes of movies and dramas at Daejeon University, Taehwa (Doona! filming location), Daejeoncheon and Sojae-dong cafes in Gwansa village area, and Hanbat Arboretum. Photos and video materials of this FAM tour will be promoted domestically and abroad through SNS and various channels. This will cooperate with domestic and foreign inbound travel agencies to promote activities to attract foreign tourists. Foreign tourists can enjoy the scenes in the drama by looking around the filming location of K-content through the Snapot website ‘https://photospot.kr/daejeon'.
