Daejeon City held an exchange event, including promotions, at D-Unicorn Lounge (20th floor, Expo Tower) on the 9th to expand the attraction of foreign students at local universities.
There were 100 people attended, including foreign students and local university officials, and was conducted in the following order: promoting Daejeon City through SNS, introducing local universities, sharing cases of studying abroad, and communicating and exchanging between international students through side events.
Currently, local universities are experiencing great difficulties in recruiting new students due to the continuous decline in the school-age population and preference for universities in the metropolitan area. To overcome this problem, universities are now focusing on attracting foreign students.
About approximately 10,000 international students currently reside in Daejeon. In order to improve the competitiveness and internationalization capabilities of local universities, the city plans to gradually expand university cooperation projects, such as holding joint information sessions with foreign countries and supporting the attraction of international students from local universities.
A foreign student who attended the event said, “It was meaningful to be able to receive information about various local universities and meet international students from various countries at this exchange event, and I hope that the exchange will continue in the future.”
