For the past 13 years, Daejeon Dream Orchestra has been operated as the Daejeon Cultural Foundation's representative culture and arts education project that helps local children and youth grow into healthy citizens with self-esteem and community character through orchestra education.
This concert’s concept is ‘Winter Miracle’, containing the message that the orchestra members present miracles to help the audience have a warm winter. A total of eight songs are planned to be performed, including ‘Habanera’ from the opera Carmen and Tchaikovsky’s ‘Swan Lake’. In particular, graduates of the Daejeon Dream Orchestra will participate as performers and present a meaningful performance with junior members.
About 50 members, comprised of 9 parts, participated in weekly theoretical and practical training to sharpen their skills and also carried out social giving activities by sharing music with citizens through visiting concerts.
Baek Chun-hee, CEO of the Daejeon Cultural Foundation, quoted Beethoven's words, 'Only those with a pure heart can cook delicious music,' he added, 'Many citizens come to heal their bodies and minds while listening to the delicious music dishes prepared by children. I hope I can end this difficult year”.
