Exhibition of various marine life research results through media art, etc.

 
The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (Minister Cho Seung-hwan) announced that the National Marine Biological Resources Center (Director Choi Wan-hyeon) are reopen on Friday, December 22 after completing the refurbishment of the exhibition space ‘SeaQrium'.
 
* SeaQrium: A compound word of SEA (sea) + Question + Rium (space), an exhibition space at the National Marine Biological Resources Center where people ask questions and find answers with curiosity about the sea.

SeaQrium, the National Marine Life Resources Center, opened in April 2015 and is the only museum specializing in marine life in Korea with more than 200,000 visitors annually. Marking its 9th anniversary this year, the National Marine Life Resources Center Securium was opened in 2015 to reflect visitors' needs and improve the exhibition environment. 
 
Through this, we installed a huge LED media art about 250m long that can show realistic videos of various marine life living in the sea, an open lab where visitors and scientists can communicate directly, and an ocean New biological digital exhibition contents were also prepared.
 
Following the creation of a children's experience exhibition hall last year, the National Marine Biological Resources Center is expected to be able to provide visitors with lively exhibitions and various educational services about marine life in our seas as it completes a refurbishment project including LED media art this year. 
 
Minister of Oceans and Fisheries Cho Seung-hwan said, “Through this refurbishment, the National Marine Biological Resources Center Securium will establish itself as a marine cultural space that communicates with the public based on marine biological resources research results. More people will come to the newly renovated facility”. “I hope you can visit the National Marine Biological Resources Center and see, feel, and learn about the marine life in our oceans,” he added.
