According to Buyeo-gun, Nanum F&B Co., Ltd. and Dr. Kim Soo-man, the holder of the patented technology for mass production of seed potatoes, signed a seed potato mass production technology transfer project in Namangan Province, Uzbekistan on December 19 with Yanggikorugan County, Namangan Province, Uzbekistan for the creation of the K Buyeo Good Trae Seed Potato Specialty Complex.
This is the first time since Buyeo County officials, including County Governor Park Jeong-hyun, visited Namangan Province, Uzbekistan, and signed an agreement on the creation of the K Buyeo Goodtre Agricultural Specialty Complex in June, a main contract will be signed and practical projects will be promoted.
Nanum F&B Co., Ltd., which is participating in the overseas agricultural resource development project being promoted by Buyeo County, will dispatch professional personnel starting next year to transfer seed potato culture and cultivation technology to Yangikorugan County, Namangan Province, Uzbekistan, and will produce 35,000 tons per year for 25 years. More than 1,000 hectares of seed potatoes will be produced.
This contract is essential in that it is an agricultural technology export contract in which technology transfer fees for our advanced agricultural technology are guaranteed and full support is provided, including the stay expenses of dispatched personnel, and sales of at least $14 million per year based on 1,000 ha are expected.
Park Jeong-hyun, Governor of Buyeo County, stated, “Buyeo-gun will stand at the forefront of k-agriculture through overseas agricultural resource development projects,” he said. We will pioneer overseas agricultural markets and expand export forward bases by creating the k-Buyeo Good Trae Agricultural Specialty Complex. Buyeo County has decided to pursue overseas agricultural resource development projects in earnest. It has signed an agreement to create the K Buyeo Good Trae Agricultural Specialty Complex on a long-term scale of 6,700 ha in Namangan Province, Uzbekistan. Starting next year, we plan to expand into smart farms and operate pilot farms such as rice cultivation.
In addition, we plan to focus on foreign agricultural training and high-level agricultural human resource exchanges, such as selecting agricultural trainees in Namangan Province, Uzbekistan, and conducting field-oriented agricultural training.
According to an official from Buyeo County, “We plan to pursue an agreement with Mongolia early next year to create the K Buyeo Good Trae Agricultural Specialty Complex,” and added, “We hope that the number of companies exporting agricultural technology and participating in overseas agricultural resource development projects will increase.”
