On January 2nd, Daejeon Mayor Lee Jang-woo and public officials held an inaugural ceremony at the main auditorium of City Hall at 11 a.m. on the 2nd and pledged to take a greater leap toward becoming a top economic city in the new year.
Mayor Lee Jang-woo emphasized, “In 2024, we will create a Daejeon that soars without hesitation toward a new future,” and “We will pave the way for Daejeon to become a first-class economic city with detailed strategies, thorough preparations, bold and rapid actions, and bold challenges”. “We will pioneer it”, he added.
Additionally, Mayor Lee emphasized, “Based on Daejeon’s 2048 Grand Plan, which is unwavering despite changes in times and regimes, we will definitely make the future Daejeon that citizens want into reality.”
Mayor Lee asked public officials to “work together to complete Daejeon as a first-class city in the spirit of ‘response to change and innovation’, which means responding to changes one step ahead and taking the lead in pioneering”.
Lastly, Mayor Lee expressed his gratitude for the passion of public officials who achieved many changes and achievements in 2023, and prayed for health and happiness in the new year of 2024.
Meanwhile, Mayor Lee began his official schedule for the new year by visiting the Veterans Park and Daejeon National Cemetery with city officials.
